Making Peace (and Sharing an Antenna) With Your Co-Located Pager Transmitter

It seems that any time you talk to a 2-meter repeater owner and mention the word “pager,” an immediate cringe appears. There is good cause for this. It’s very, very difficult to get a 2-meter amateur repeater to work well with a nearby VHF pager transmitter … especially one on the same tower. Both are in the VHF portion of the frequency spectrum (30 to 300 MHz), with 2-meter ham repeaters in the 144 to 148 MHz range and VHF pagers in the 150-152 MHz area.
