Unlike other war memorials dotted across Australia, there are no names etched into the hard granite memorial that stands outside Eaglehawk Town Hall; however, testament to the commitment made in the Great War by the people of ‘the Borough’ is the one line firmly etched onto the bronze mountings: ‘Over 900 served, over 100 dead’.
