JOSH MIDDLETON

had this VHS of live in Barcelona that I would watch every day after school – it made me want to get a spiky guitar and play that kind of music. is one of the best metal songs ever, period; there’s loads of riffs, it’s very energetic whilst still being heavy and there are little glimmers of melody, but mostly it’s just relentlessly powerful. I always loved really fast music,’s live album – back in the day it was a better way of getting a ‘Best Of’ to check out a new band. I gravitated towards the songs off and ended up getting that record a little later; it’s one of my favourite metal albums because it’s got a lot going on with layered melodic and progressive elements.
