Who will save paper auto history?
great column on the shuttering of magazine — I’m also broken-hearted when I see publications die. Our hobby (my wife calls it my addiction) has a rich history of publications going back to the very first enthusiast publication in 1895, . As much as we love our cars and trucks, we can point to those first times when we picked up a magazine that contained nothing but car stuff! In my era, the ’60s, I was so excited to read about some of our most iconic heroes in , , , — all part of which became a staple “must have” to see what was happening in my part of the world (the Midwest) rather than just the glossy coasts. Chet Krause seemed like just a regular guy that really dug cars and the publication reflected his simple approach.
