Listening as the notes of ‘The Last Post’ were trumpeted out, a silence fell over the Anzac Day crowd.

Attending the parade with my trusty steed, Annie, I hoped I was doing my ancestors proud.

Raised on a dairy farm in rural Victoria, I’d learned to ride horses at a young age.

Then when I finished pony club at 21, I was eager to move on to my next adventure.
