For seven years, a mum of five ordered a skin-lightening face cream from Mexico that helped keep age spots at bay.
The brand of cream, Pond’s, is well known, but the unnamed woman knew a little something extra was added by a third party to make the cream particularly effective.
In July 2019, the woman, 47, went to her doctor complaining of strange sensations in her hands.
