Welcome back, folks! In this month's issue, we are continuing to look at open-string double-stops, enhanced with an array of percussive dead notes. Example 1 familiarizes us with a II-V-I chord progression in the key of D major. As you transcend through the measures, you’ll be able to identify with a number of key attributes. For example, using this key center allows us to deliver all of the bass notes of the chord progression with nothing more than open strings. Obviously, this is massively beneficial as it frees up the fretting hand to add supplementary harmonic support.
