Whether tearing up stages with the B-52s, guesting with David Lee Roth and Des’Ree, or touring with a host of household names, Tracy Ann Wormworth is an absolute phenomenon. Her first steps in the biz were with the new wave band the Waitresses back in the early 80s, and she has since worked with artists as diverse as Sting, Wayne Shorter, Cyndi Lauper, and jazz legend Regina Carter in the live arena. Wormworth’s fusion-friendly technique and cross-genre abilities also made her perfect for the bass slot inhouse band, backing enormous stars like Liza Minnelli and Little Richard. She comes from talented stock: Her grandfather was James Wormworth II, the famed jazz drummer; Tracy’s dad, Jimmy, was also a noted drummer, as is her brother James; and her sister Mary is an acclaimed vocalist.
