CAR-FOLLOWING is a difficult thing to get right. To do it really well — and see a lot of the hunting — you have to concentrate, which is not nearly as convivial as chatting and picnicking. I have learnt this because the great Molly Austen is confined to her stable and eating her head off with an injury to a check ligament; I am therefore on four wheels, not four hooves.
