Ex-racehorse earns his champagne

A FORMER racehorse who has been out of training for less than a year proved he has multiple talents to scoop a championship title in his new career.

Pop The Champers (Pops) took the prelim 18/80cm title under rider and retrainer Kathryn Pickering, who also rode him in his previous career while he was in training with Nick Kent.

Owner Wendy Wesley, who was also one of his owners during his racing career, was there to witness her elegant nine-year-old shine in a new sphere.
