1 BLACKSTAR SONNET 60 £349

Blackstar has unveiled its entry into the acoustic market with the Sonnet Series. Available in black or cream and copper, the Sonnet 60 features a specially designed 6.5-inch driver together with a tweeter to add the all-important high-frequency detail. There are two channels, one for guitar and the other for vocals, with separate EQ and a host of pro features, including a balanced input on the guitar channel, a choice of plate or hall digital reverb, USB and mp3/line in jacks and a balanced direct out with ground lift. All this for just £349? Yessir.

And if the amp isn’t enough to tempt you, check out the Sonnet’s promo video featuring the incredible Jon Gomm. As it becomes more expensive and difficult for bands to hit the road and tour, the number of singer/guitarists and guitarist/singers is on the rise, making the acoustic solo performance amplifier an essential tool. In this increasingly competitive sector, the Sonnet is a strong contender. www.blackstaramps.com
