Hydrating face mists used to be wheeled out on just two occasions: backstage at Fashion Weeks by make-up artists keen to create a dewy complexion and – for the rest of us – during holiday season, when aeroplane cabin air and hours in the sun suck the life (and moisture) out of our skin. But these days it’s rare for a beauty collection not to include a facial spritz.
“All of the serious skincare ranges that include a mist of some sort,” says Alexia Inge, co-founder of the website. “And advances in formulation technology mean that they bring much more to the table than a refreshing feeling. The original face sprays were all about using either thermal spring waters with natural minerals or essence waters like rose or jasmine, but the next generation contain ingredients such as colloidal silver, probiotics, encapsulated vitamin C and hyaluronic acid.”
