Last act of LOVE
Hearing the shrill ring of my home phone, I stirred from my sleep.
It was early one morning in February 2018.
Reaching for the handset, I shot wide awake when I heard the panic in my nephew’s voice.
‘Grandma and Grandad are in hospital,’ Ben, who was then 32, said.
‘What?’ I gasped.
Rushing to collect my things, I fled through the door within minutes.
As I raced towards the hospital, my mind went into overdrive.
Mum and Dad both in hospital.
And I couldn’t help but think I knew why…
