Fendi Baguette
In 1996, when Silvia Fendi created a neat little shoulder bag that could be tucked under the arm like a baguette and reworked in endless materials and decoration – beaded, embroidered, woven, appliquéd – she transformed the fortunes of her historic family-owned label (luxury goods corporation LVMH bought into the company three years later) and created a pop culture sensation. In 1998, the Baguette starred in as Sarah Jessica Parker’s most loved accessory, and later had its own storylines in two episodes.
