FEARS, PHOBIAS… whatever you call them, we all have something we’re scared of. Heights, spiders and flying would be three common ones. The most surprising answer Rugby World has ever received from years of asking about players’ phobias was from former England Women’s wing Kay Wilson, whose response was baked beans. That was until we interviewed Lewis Ludlam.
Look at his performances on the pitch, whether wearing the green of Northampton Saints or the white of England, and you wouldn’t think there was much that could unnerve the powerful 24-year-old. He’s the one rushing into contact, with or without the ball, and scavenging at breakdowns.
