CINESAMPLES Randy’s Prepared Piano $129

Open up the lid on a prepared piano and you could be forgiven for asking what on earth the piano might have done to deserve such treatment? The answer is firmly about the creation of new and interesting timbre, in a pursuit which extends back to musical pioneer John Cage. The resulting effects are firmly acoustic and ideal for today’s commercial and cinematic music, so no surprise that West Coast sample heroes Cinesamples have picked up the mantle, adding another substantially useful volume to their already brimming portfolio of classy libraries.
