GETTING THERE

SWISS, Turkish Airways and Kuwait Airlines fly from major Indian cities like Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore to Geneva (return fares from 60,000). Geneva is a two-and-a-half-hour drive away from Lötschental. The usual car-hire firms are available land-side (www. rentalcars.com; from 4,000/ day). Note that the Swiss authorities clamp down hard on anyone caught speeding and impose heavy fines – be careful!
