Kriti Sanon is a success story in more ways than one. It began way back when the shy Delhi girl chucked a career in engineering to make inroads into a fantasy world. Her first film, Heropanti, won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut, a good omen for things to follow. But nothing was served to her on a silver platter. Steadfast and sincere, she didn’t allow the whims of the business fuzz her confidence. It’s just recently that the actress, otherwise serenaded for her dazzling looks, broke new ground with Bareilly Ki Barfi and Luka Chuppi. Her hitherto unidentified earthiness found a throng of cheerleaders. Filmmakers are now willing to invest in her. If Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat has her play a feisty Maratha, Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 4, has her romance Akshay Kumar. She’ll also be doing a woman-centric film, riding solely on her shoulders. On a personal level, it’s been a beautiful metamorphosis too. She’s learnt to deal with failure and negativity, with fragile friendships and overwhelming heartbreak. She’s embraced it all , her belief in love, marriage and life unbroken. In fact, she’s become more accepting of herself, of others… She’s understood that somewhere between the stark black and white… life revels in the silver shades of grey…
