HIGHLIGHTS FROM IFA 2019

There was no avoiding the subject of trade wars at the grand opening of IFA 2019 in Berlin. The CEO of organisers Messe Berlin, Dr Christian Göke, made an eloquent plea against the rising threat in the forms of tariffs and other restrictions which will, he says “hit not just the country where a device has been assembled, it will also hit us, the consumer.”

Dr Göke’s remarks followed some fairly pessimistic projections from Hans-Joachim Kamp, chairman of gfu, Messe Berlin’s partner in IFA, noting
