Our national newspaper of record, , recently announced it has ceased to publish a separate arts section on weekdays, relegating that content to weekends only. There is little need to reiterate the ongoing shedding of dedicated classical music journalists that has plagued North American, no longer even hire freelance classical specialists. So, in the ‘traditional’ media at least, there is less and less of an appetite to analyse and review so-called ‘serious’ music.
