IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN: GUMBO SEASON.

In the fall, when the weather starts to cool, we break out our trusty Dutch ovens and set to work making bubbling cauldrons of spicy, smoky gumbo. And since Louisianans will look for any reason to celebrate, this year we’ll be rounding up family and friends for a feast centered on the dish. Though gumbo requires little more than rice or creamy potato salad, crusty bread, and your favorite hot sauce, these sides and snacks are tasty accompaniments that will make for a festive affair from start to finish.
