SAVE THIS RHINO

“We aren’t reading as much, and we are watching more, so it is important for us film-makers to get important messages in front of people through entertainment.”

Baby animals are always bound to tug at the heartstrings, but one in particular – an orphaned rhino calf called Arthur – is playing an important role in the on-going struggle to save the species from ruthless poaching. Arthur stars alongside former international cricketers Kevin Pietersen and Graeme Smith in a two-part documentary called Save This Rhino, the first major project for THIS. Film Studio, M&C Saatchi Group’s film and television production studio. Since retiring from cricket, Pietersen has become a fierce advocate for wildlife conservation, and has established SORAI – Save Our Rhino Africa India – specifically to help save the rhino from extinction.

The cast also includes Australian wildlife conservationist Matt Wright – best known for his television series channel, and the founder of the Care For Wild Rhino Sanctuary in the Limpopo province of South Africa, Petronel Nieuwoudt.
