Ford cars, Ford trucks, mid-price Mercury car and Lincoln luxury cars were all offered in 1941. All models were introduced at 6000 U.S. dealerships in late September 1940. As 1941 began, few suspected it would end with a second World War for the United States after Japanese airplanes bombed Pearl Harbor in December.
