Wired: A Gun Dog Story by Jake - Part IV

Wired’ is a series of stories of the canine hunting partners who have shared their lives with me. It all began in California in 1970’s, and moved to Hawaii in the 1990’s, where the adventure continues. I was blessed to have some fine gun dogs, and cherish the memories of each and every one. In these stories I share those memories with you.

The year was 2000. Doc, my German wirehaired pointer, was still in his prime, and we were hunting birds on Mauna Kea. But Doc was getting older, and it was time to think of the future.
