FORD MONDEO FROM $33,190

Falcon is now dead and buried so the European-designed and -built Mondeo is, effectively, Ford Australia’s new flagship family and fleet car.

There are three spec levels (Ambiente, Trend, Titanium), available in hatch or wagon, with a choice of two turbopetrol engines and a turbodiesel.

Ambiente starts at $33,190 for the 149kW/345Nm 2.0-litre turbopetrol/six-speed auto hatch. Trend, with the 177kW/345Nm chip, is $37,790
