Career in retrospect

THIS MONTH I would like to hand over the page to a letter I received that I found very interesting, extremely insightful and a must read from “Roy”. Now retired at age 67, Roy has always had a disability due to childhood polio, but he can still drive and he’s “bloody good at it”.

Unfortunately, one day while adjusting his load, Roy slipped off the back of the rig. To prevent his head hitting the road, he stretched out my left arm. It hit the road stiff, palm first, and split both radius and ulna length-wise.

Then, Roy’s hips hit the road twisted, followed by his left shoulder and back of his head. Now, his neck and shoulders hurt all the time and he can’t lift a gate, pallet or anything above his shoulders. But one day after the fall he was back
