Classics CONVOY

The Australian Road Transport Heritage Centre (ARTHC) held a successful fundraising weekend in June and now plans to purchase land for its proposed museum.

ARTHC Secretary Daryl Weston says $20,000 was collected on June 8 and 9 at the annual fund-raising dinner and Sylvia’s Gap Convoy. Costs were still being tallied when he spoke to Deals on Wheels.

After years of fundraising, the ARTHC believes it is now in a position to purchase land in Gundagai. Daryl says several locations are being considered and ‘hotly debated’ by committee members. He is optimistic a site will be purchased before the ARTHC’s lease at Jack Moses Avenue expires in July 2020.
