UNDER PRESSURE
In order to maintain vehicle safety and on-road stability, the most basic rule is that all tyres should be inflated to the correct pressure; an aspect particularly relevant to motorhomes. Under or over inflation will not only adversely affect handling; it can also lead to dangerous tyre failure. If you aren’t already aware of the correct inflation pressure for the tyres on your motorhome, check your vehicle’s handbook.
While safety should be your first concern, be aware that incorrect tyre pressures can also lead to premature wear as well as increasing your vehicle’s fuel consumption. As such, taking proper car of your tyres will also save you money.
Pressures should be checked and adjusted appropriately prior to any journey. This check should be made when the tyres are cold – not during or after a run as inflation pressure will rise as the tyres warm up.
