THE ISLE OF WIGHT
When one thinks of England, the idea of an island holiday may not immediately come to mind. However, everyone from famous poets to royalty has long spent their days whiling away on these sunny isles. When my fiancé Brage and I decided we wanted to go on a relaxing holiday, we turned our sights onto the Isle of Wight. The largest of England’s islands, the Isle of Wight lies a few miles off of Hampshire in the English Channel. It is separated from the mainland by the Solent Strait and boasts similar weather to nearby Spain. Despite being unfamiliar with our destination before we arrived, we quickly discovered that the Isle of Wight was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway.
