“I’m all about experiences – particularly in the ‘great outdoors’ – and I will take any opportunity to hike, mountain bike, snorkel, camp or travel. I secretly love fossil hunting and every time I return to visit the UK you can find me on Charmouth Beach in Dorset, chiselling away at rocks while my kids look for ammonites. I have just returned from a two-week trip cycling a few hundred kilometres across Outer Mongolia with seven other women, which was an unbelievable experience.”

There doesn’t appear to be any one set path for the journey into facilities management, and Joanne Veitch has had one as varied and interesting as the best of them. For her, getting into FM was a self-proclaimed accident.
