Fun fitness

Aside from being the gem of the residence, the swimming pool is a functional space that can work wonders for your inner, and outer, health. Swimming is a low-impact exercise that is accessible to people of all ages and fitness levels. According to the latest data from Roy Morgan Research, swimming is the most popular sport in Australia, with approximately one in two children and one in 10 adults regularly taking the plunge. Gary Nye, chief executive officer of the Swimming Pool & Spa Association (SPASA), says swimming is a holistic activity that works every muscle in your body. “Swimming has little impact or stress on your body,” Gary says. “Swimming uses more limbs and muscles than many other exercises, and it builds on your cardiovascular ability,” he says. “Due to its fat-burning potential, swimming also helps you maintain a healthy weight.”
