“Using small die-cut pieces can be challenging, as they can get lost in an overall design. I decided to use a grid pattern so each that I used many times to create faux postage stamps, it was sitting next to my work area when I was cutting the small dies and it just so happened that some of the pieces tumbled over the template and a lightbulb sparked! I set about cutting my own grid to frame these small pieces and in the end it was like a jigsaw puzzle, finding the perfect position for each character. I love how every little creature has its moment in the spotlight!”
