World Series factor

ALL HAIL THE NATS There’s nothing like a World Series title to draw positive attention to deserving players. For baseball’s newly crowned kings, the Washington Nationals, that attention naturally has spilled into the collecting arena. Consider these post-World Series prices paid at eBay:

• $12,000 for a 2018 Topps Transcendent 1952 Retro autographed Juan Soto Superfractor. Some 80 bids fueled this 1-of-1 item (graded BGS 9.5) to that lofty price.

• $6,000 for a 2012 signed Bowman Chrome Anthony Rendon Purple Refractor graded BGS 10. It comes from an edition of 10. An Orange Refractor of the same card sold for $2,125 on 22 bids; its grade was slightly lower at BGS 9.5.

• $3,600 for a 2016 Bowman Chrome Juan Soto autographed Refractor card,
