FOXING
Q When I’m out at night after foxes I find that quite often when I switch on my night vision, foxes will sheer off and offer no chance of a shot. How do you get round this?
A Mike says: I think I’ve covered this in an article previously but it certainly won’t hurt to go over it again as it is something I hear quite often.
Put yourself in the position of a fox. You are happily trundling round your territory looking for a meal. It’s quiet, dark, and all is well. Suddenly, out of nowhere a red light appears. You’ve never seen it before and it sets all your senses on edge. With your heightened abilities of sight, sound and smell working overtime, you detect that something else is out there in the night that shouldn’t be there. You are no hero so don’t go looking for trouble – you leg it.
