Sporting Rifle

Professional Performer

The Browning X-Bolt Pro Hunter G5 Threaded – that’s quite a mouthful, but that’s only because this rifle is packed with features. No hint of any gimmicks either, just solid ideas that manifest in what promises to be a cracking rifle.

Most of you will be familiar with the Browning X-Bolt. It’s tried and tested, and is available in many calibres across a variety of stock and barrel configurations, so when faced with a wooden-stocked, grade 5 American, with a tungsten Cerakoted barrel, action, mounts and scope, and a fluted barrel adding to the initial impression of quality, I was expecting good things.

My own choice would normally be a synthetic stock, but I have to admit the oil-finished grade 5 stock sits beautifully against the tungsten Cerakote finish, and with care there should be no reason this stock won’t perform, and provide a solid chassis for the Browning X-Bolt.
