im Jones’ first collection for Dior Men was simply outstanding. How he artfully and playfully re-energized the menswear line with a dash of soft elegance, feminine and streetwear influences, as well as some of Dior’s most iconic accessories—the saddle bag, of course—showcases just how good he is in respecting the house’s codes while also bringing them into the presentday. That masterful approach was also present in Dior Men’s summer 2019 capsule collection. Interestingly, Jones commissioned the services of KAWS, an artist known primarily for designer toys, to reimagine Dior’s iconic bee and the Dior name itself in a playful way. He also revisited a 17th century Japanese embroidery technique called boro and applied it to jeans, shirts and blousons with colored threads that are left intentionally visible.
