rganized by Graeme Holder, president of the Cobra Club of New Zealand, the cruise was initially planned as a way for the geographically dispersed Cobra club members to meet up. Graeme asked if my partner and I, and maybe some other Fraser Car Club members, would like to accompany them. Firing the cars up on 16 February, we set out — six Cobras and two Frasers rumbling out of Auckland through the morning traffic, ready to collect others on the way through. We would soon be a group of 20 Cobras, six Frasers, a GT40, and a late-model Ford Falcon Cobra. During stops along the way, some characters soon distinguished themselves.
