Like many people, I’ve mourned the loss of Australian vehicle manufacturing. Not the Toyota Camrys or bland Mum-and-Dad-spec appliances, but the real cars. However, having driven the 2019 Chev Camaro ZL1, it’s fair to say that crying about the end of Holden manufacturing vehicles now seems somewhat similar to crying about the demise of black-and-white TV or dial-up internet. Thanks to Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) doing a deal with GM to get the rights to convert the left-hand-drive Camaro to right hook, the future for V8-crazed petrolheads in this part of the world is brighter than ever before.
