Belonging: Stories of Australian Art

The history of 19th century Australian art is recast in this epic presentation of historical and contemporary work created by more than 170 artists from across Australia. By placing a range of Indigenous and non-Indigenous works side by side for the first time, ‘Belonging: Stories of Australian Art’ reconsiders Australia’s history of colonisation through a visual narrative of its impact and ongoing effects, from traditional European depictions of Australian landscapes void of First Nations people to contemporary works representing Indigenous perspectives.
