Rock, paper, satellite

Most people will agree that satellite navigation – or GPS – doesn’t replace paper maps, but rather supplements them. But there are those who detest GPS devices and would rather rely on a good old AA road book. Similarly, there are supporters of GPS devices who believe that paper maps should go the way of the dodo.

While those on opposing poles duke it out, there are people who don’t rely on neither GPS nor a paper map. British newspaper The Guardian revealed in 2014 that a growing number of young people under the age of 25 use only their smart phone and won’t know how to navigate to a destination if the phone’s battery dies or it loses signal.
