The thing that makes Front Runner’s rooftop tent popular is its simplicity and low weight. The latter is especially important if you drive a compact SUV that can’t bear a heavy load on the roof.

But even those who own burly 4x4 vehicles love it because it looks equally at home on a savannah as it does under a camelthorn tree.
