Hilux scores a half-century

The first Hilux Legend, the Legend 35, was launched 15 years ago to commemorate the Hilux’s 35th anniversary in South Africa. Since then, we’ve been getting a Legend version of this stalwart every five years. Is the Legend a marketing ploy so Toyota can sell even more of them? Of course, yes, but buyers are not cheated because the Legend 50 isn’t that much more expensive than a 4x4 Raider with the same specifications, plus it boasts some unique features to honour its first half-century on African soil.
