Chilling on the Wild Coast

Nature in the Eastern Cape likes to brag. And it may, because this is a stunning part of the world with spectacular estuaries and golden beaches where swimmers and anglers feel equally at home.

There’s no pretence here in East London, the start of the Eastern Cape Wild Coast. The people do business at a slower pace, which means it’s just the spot to escape to when you need a long break. What’s more, you can drive here without worrying about the road conditions. Those infamous Transkei roads only start north of here.

We camped at two of the most popular resorts in the area.
