FIRST IMPREZAS COUNT

To British eyes the Impreza seemed to come from nowhere. One moment we were celebrating Ford’s Sierra Cosworth as a psychotic icon of motoring madness, the next our rally stages were bristling with Imprezas, which then proceeded to dominate British motorsport for more than a decade and a half. As a road car the Impreza also excelled, and it is perfectly reasonable to hail it as a car that took the 1990s by storm.
