Prior to refitting the front carpets in the Stag, I decided to fit a driver’s left foot rest. The original had been removed when the front speakers were installed and could not be replaced, so after taking some measurements, a replacement footrest was fabricated from steel bar with a bottom flange that could be bolted to the floor. Two rivet nuts were inserted into the floor, so after painting and fitting a rubber pad to the footrest it was a simple task to bolt into position before replacing the carpet.
