The morning after hit HBO series Big Little Lies picked up its four Golden Globes last year – for Best Television Limited Series, Best Actress (Nicole Kidman, pictured), Best Supporting Actress (Laura Dern) and Best Supporting Actor (Alexander Skarsgård) – Kidman received a text from three time Oscar-winner, Meryl Streep.
“She wrote: ‘Well, this just means I have to do it, huh?’” the show’s Aussie star and co-producer says with a grin as she recounts the casting coup of the century.
Overwhelmed by demand for more, the all-star cast had agreed to a second season, with bestselling Australian author Liane Moriarty – whose book was the basis for the first season – happened to her son, Perry (Skarsgård).
