MARGARET’S TOP PICK

US (MA 15+)

AVAILABLE FROM JULY 3

After the stunning success of Get Out, Jordan Peele’s sophomore feature takes us into the realms of horror yet again. It begins in 1986 on the Santa Cruz boardwalk, where young Adelaide (Madison Curry) strays from her parents, wanders into a hall of mirrors and confronts another version of herself. She’s traumatised by the experience.

Cut to the present day and adult Adelaide (Lupita Nyong’o, pictured) is married to’s Winston Duke), the pair having returned to Adelaide’s old stomping ground near Santa Cruz for a summer holiday with their two children, Zora (Shahadi Wright Joseph) and Jason (Evan Alex). Back at their lake house after a day at the beach with friends Josh and Kitty (Tim Heidecker and Elisabeth Moss), Jason spots a family outside in their driveway, but when Gabe confronts them, they don’t respond, they don’t move.
