On a typical play date, there’ll be sharing, then some crying (probably as one child takes a coveted toy away from another). Then there’ll be a brief check-in with Mom before your child’s off again. During those interactions, your child has acquired some vital skills, according to creative parenting expert Nikki Bush. They’ve learnt about giving, taking and how to be in the same space as another person. They’ve also come to understand that even if they leave you, you’ll be there when they come back – which means they can trust you.
