Confident and unapologetic, the Jasmin Sparrow woman is one of wit, strength and intelligence. This according to brand founder and designer, Jasmin Scott, who launched the jewellery label in 2014 in response to a market “flooded with products” of seemingly little substance. “I wanted to make sustainable pieces that were classic and designed to last,” says the 30-year-old mother of one. “My favourite pieces of jewellery are ones my own mother and grandmother have passed down to me, and that’s what I hope to see happen with my pieces.” Based in Auckland, Jasmin completed a year-long art and design course at Massey University in Wellington in her early 20s, after which she dabbled in a number of creative pursuits, including costuming and styling for music videos and photoshoots.
