I dress like a French fisherman, in androgynous designs that are simple and timeless with straight lines. I have far too many navy workwear-type jackets, but I do also like a long summer dress. Round collars, linen and light cotton – that kind of thing.
I keep up with the fashion world but gravitate towards classic cuts and labels. My wardrobe is slightly overflowing, so I’m trying not to buy similar versions of things I already own, which is my main problem.
I can’t get enough of the clothes my clever friends are producing: Sherie Muijs, Penny Sage, Papa Clothing, Areez Katki. There are so many people in new Zealand making thoughtful, timeless pieces. It’s an art how well-constructed clothes and fabrics sit on the human body.
Brown is not a colour I usually wear, so I enjoy it for a bit of a change, and I like the association with changing seasons. Rust or beige are good as they go with pretty much anything and make a nice alternative to all my navy, black, white and grey.
